Hi Sondra. I have missed seeing you and am glad to see you. You look so good and you are always spilling some tea. You have laid out a multitude of reasons to love the region. Been down because of an emergency surgery. The vlogs from you and others is food for the soul. Keep sharing, keep being blessed and keep the vlogs going. I have to check out your views that I have missed.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I’m so glad the vlogs are bringing some joy your way, especially during a tough time. I’m sending you lots of healing energy as you recover from surgery. Definitely check out any videos you missed, and don’t forget to hit the notification bell so you’ll always know when I drop something new. Take care and keep watching, I appreciate you! 😊✨
Very good job of capturing the essence which is not an easy task. For me, it is people above all as an expression of the culture. The language can sometimes seem more difficult than it is, but keep at it. It will give you great insight to the culture as well. We all learn differently and I have had the time [first here in 1974 and 20 years living in a village] and family to learn through immersion. Though I converse fluidly, I do not know the tones for each word, the words/tones sound differently and it took time for me to get an ear for it. Flashcards and keep moving forward. But you soft, kind demeanor shows me that you are enjoying and fitting in quite well.
Thank you for watching and thank you for your kind encouragement. I enjoy my Thai lessons and my teacher is an Angel 😇… but this old brain may need to make some flash cards like you suggested. It seems like when she leaves all I’ve learned leaves too🥲. But I will keep at it. Thanks for your support💕
@@fromlacktolegacy There are some little tricks I have used to learn, and have fun. There are many English words that have been adopted. "Serious" is a Thai word that everyone uses and understands. The difference is that in Thai, there are no positive connotations for the word, "Serious." An interesting cultural note.
@@2kkto2 thank you for sharing that. I will keep practicing, but even if I never become fluent, it helps me feel more connected to the wonderful Thai people and that’s a gift in itself 💛
Hi thanks so much for your video! Very informative. I'm planning on coming there in November to check it out as a possible place to live. How do you deal with the burning season? Thanks
I generally go to a neighboring country. Flights are very reasonably priced in both Malaysia and Vietnam. This year I went to Japan for the cherry blossoms. That would be a lovely getaway if you haven’t been to Japan, but it cost a little more than Vietnam or Malaysia
I lived in Bangkok and Muak Lek in 1997-1998. I'm still in touch with my neighbor and plan to visit her next June. I have never been to Chiang Mai and would love to visit. When closer to visit date, I'll reach out to see if you are available for a visit.
I'm learning to really enjoy rainy season. It doesn't generally rain all day. It may rain for a bit, and then the day clears us and it so green and lush. It's a welcome relief from the oppressive heat.
Thank you so much for subscribing! 😊 I’m happy you found the channel and can’t wait for you to experience Thailand too! Yes, I’m taking Thai lessons, and let me tell you, it’s WAY harder than Spanish! I’m learning both at the same time, and some days my head feels like it’s doing mental gymnastics 😂 But I’m getting there little by little. Thanks again for the love, and blessings to you as well! Don’t forget to hit that notification bell so you don’t miss a thing! 💫
They have this new DTV visa that lets you stay for up to 5 years!!! And it’s easier to qualify for. Check out the Thai Visa website. I think I’m going to stay a little longer
I will use my mic the next time. I usually do live streams. i will definitely be working on improving the quality and video production quality of future videos. Thank you for watching and thanks for the feedback. Please set your notifications so you don't miss future videos.
@@fromlacktolegacy I don’t have on a mask. It’s a photo of a snowman dressed up to look like a man. I don’t have a YT channel and don’t know how I got subscribers. Maybe they like snowmen. I don’t troll. I was merely pointing out the proper way to pronounce Chiang Mai in, what I thought, was a comical way but it looks like it back fired. Please forgive me if I offended you. I wish you the best and hope you continue to enjoy Chiang Mai. It’s my favorite city in Thailand.

How long can you stay? How often do you have to leave and come back? 🤔
You can get visa on arrival. It’s free and you’re allowed to stay 60 days. You can then e yet for another 30 days. It cost less than 50.00 to renew
@@fromlacktolegacy Thank you- is there a limit on how often you can renew?

How do you feel about Bangkok in comparison?
Chiang Mai is smaller, less congested but all the culture, food and wonderful people. I think the cost of living May be slightly less too
Can you increase the vulume ?
